Chances

May 16, 2010

The probability of each moment
built from tiny fragments
of each preceding moment,
all lending to potential,
a single chance to change
so often lost to time,
split-second reasoning failing
leaving you wondering
how the dice could have fallen
if you had made one more throw,
asked one more question, told
one more truth, or stolen
one last kiss, sometimes
blinding you to another chance,
another path waiting to be followed.
