Turning

September 16, 2008

Touch of autumn

brushing leaves,

mercury drifing

down. Piles

of cast offs

line streets,

people preparing

to hole up

for winter.

Evening’s

fall quiet,

children back

at schook,

while businesses

get louder,

shifting gears

for holiday rushes.

Daylight lingers

a few weeks more,

while long nights

creep closer, along

with the snow.
